Blitzen Trapper, originaire de Portland dans l'Oregon, a fêté ses 10 ans en 2010. Le sextet vient tout juste de sortir son cinquième album 'Destroyer Of The Void'. Contrairement à ce que leur nom laisserait présager, les Blitzen Trapper sont bien les dignes représentants d'une Americana pur jus. 

Le très influent webzine Pitchfork a écrit : 'Unlike many of their contemporaries doing the bearded-70s-folk-rocker thing, Blitzen Trapper's influences lie less with hippie-ish CSNY or the Grateful Dead and more with the rugged late-60s roots-rock of Bob Dylan and the Band.'
