One of the reasons to go see Menomena live might be to find out whether they're finally going to admit their name's been derived from the legendary Muppets show bit (we're sure it has).

But a more plausible reason would be that you're into the trio's virtually effortless replication of their densely instrumented recordings, switching from one instrument to another and triggering MIDI samples, without the use of any backing tracks.

Granted, their latest album 'Mines' contains a bit less hyperactive creative action than the previous two but this again opens paths to a more balanced and mature sound which in turn will give them access to a more diversified audience.
